IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  1. Inform Instructors of your Accommodations
  • You have the option of providing your Accommodation Letter to your professors in-person or you can opt for the system to send a digital copy.  Either way, you should still have a conversation with your professors to discuss your accommodations.
  1. Signup for all your exams
  • The earlier you sign up for your exam, the better! We recommend you use your syllabi and sign up for all Exams, Tests, Quizzes and Final Exams for the semester.  This ensures you are on our schedule and allows us time to prepare all necessary materialsIf you wait until the last minute to sign up, it could result in your having to wait to be seated due to lack of space or exam availability.
  • You should always take your exam at the same time as the classIf you find you have a scheduling conflict with another exam, please reach out to your professor to work out a new day or time. The general rule is to take your test 1 hour earlier, if your schedule allows, to ensure you receive your entire time-extension accommodation.
  • Once a new date/time has been established between you and your professor, please have them send an email to CDRexams@syr.edu to inform us that the new date/time has been approved.
  • Cancel your original sign-up and enter a new one based on the new information.
  1. Check-in
  • Please check in for your exam at least 10 minutes prior to your start time at 804 University Ave. Suite 303-Testing Center. If you are late 15 minutes or more, our exams staff cannot seat you without, first, contacting your instructor.
  • All non-essential items (coats, backpacks, cell phones, smart watches, etc.) are required to be kept in a locker during your exam.  Only items approved by your accommodation and/or professor are allowed in the testing room. You are responsible for bringing materials required for your exam (e.g. calculator, ruler, protractor, etc.).
  1. Taking Your Exam
  • All university exam policies are followed.
  • Please work quietly; a distraction-reduced setting is essential for all!
  • There is absolutely NO TALKING.
  • Drinks are allowed but must be in a clear container.
  • Please refrain from wearing scented products (cologne, perfume, lotions, body spray, aftershave, etc.) to respect those who may have sensitivities.
  • When you have completed your exam, please give it and any additional materials to the testing staff.  If a staff member comes into an exam room to collect your exam, please hand it to them promptly and courteously.
